Army Vocational/Technical (AVOTEC) Soldier Program

Blackstone Career Institute is participating in a pilot program to assist active duty soldiers, officers and wounded warriors with training in vocational-technical programs that prepare them for employment in high-demand fields when they transition to the civilian sector. Funds are available for active duty military members (including the National Guard and Army Reserve) to enroll in educational programs that are non-degree based and lead toward licensure or certification at the state or national level. Blackstone’s Legal Assistant/Paralegal and Allied Health Programs qualify for this initiative, but participants must complete their program within 18 months to be eligible to receive funding under AVOTEC. Operation Life Transformed

BCI is partnering with Operation Life Transformed (OLT) to offer Medical and Dental Office Assistant Training to military spouses and caregivers of war-wounded soldiers. Founded in 2007, OLT assists caregivers and military spouses with job training and placement that meets the needs of their demanding lifestyles, fitting readily around medical and rehabilitation schedules, as well as deployment and relocation. The distance learning programs available through Blackstone allow these individuals to complete their education at their own pace from any location, preparing them to enter or re-enter the job market in the growing allied health career fields. Military Spouse Career Advancement Initiative

Through the DETC (Distance Education and Training Council), Blackstone Career Institute is proud to support the Military Spouse Career Advancement Initiative program sponsored by the Department of Defense and the Department of Labor. Under this initiative, funds are available for training in target industries that represent portable careers, including health care. Blackstone’s Allied Health training programs (Medical Transcription, Medical Billing & Coding, Medical Office Assistant, & Dental Office Assistant) qualify for this program. Defense Activity for Nontraditional Education Support (DANTES)

Blackstone Career Institute appears in the Defense Activity for Nontraditional Education Support (DANTES) Catalog of Nationally Accredited Distance Learning Programs, allowing active military personnel to seek tuition assistance for independent study, external degree, or vocational training programs. Montgomery G.I. Bill

The Montgomery G.I. Bill program provides up to 36 months of education benefits to eligible veterans. This benefit may be used for degree and certificate programs, apprenticeship/on-the-job training and correspondence courses.
