Food Service Management

American Academy of Independent Studies (AAIS), Blackstone’s sister school, has offered continuing education courses since 1984 on a variety of nutrition, food safety and foodservice topics. AAIS realizes the importance of preventing food borne illness, and how education plays an important role in safe food preparation.

Foodservice employees can become certified or maintain their certification with the American Culinary Federation (ACF). AAIS also offers both the certification and recertification courses needed to meet Pennsylvania’s Food Employee Certification Act 131. These courses, recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, demonstrate to your customers, employees and co-workers your commitment to providing safe food.
