by admin on December 20, 2010

December 2010: Blackstone Career Institute, known for its distance education career training programs, is introducing new certificate courses designed to be completed quickly so students can rapidly attain their career goals. The ten new courses are entirely online and allow students to set their own study schedule and pace.

“These new courses offer several benefits to those looking for a job in this tight labor market. Those considering a new career field will find the courses offer an opportunity to become familiar with a variety of occupations in just a few short months and at a reasonable cost. The courses provide those already working in an allied health field the chance to add to their credentials to become eligible for a wider range of jobs. Finally, workers who are interested in moving up the career ladder will be able to learn skills to assist them in the process,” says Kevin McCloskey, Blackstone President.

There are ten new certificate courses to choose from:

  • Torts, Criminal Law and Civil Actions
  • Foundations of Legal Research Using LexisNexis®
  • Anatomy, Medical Terminology and HIPAA for Healthcare Professionals
  • Medical Transcription Fundamentals
  • Medical Office Procedures
  • Medical Billing
  • Medical Coding
  • Introduction to Medisoft
  • PC Fundamentals
  • Leadership Skills

Blackstone courses are developed by professionals with years of experience in distance education curriculum development.  One of the oldest distance education schools in the country, Blackstone offers career education in high-growth fields such as paralegal, pharmacy technician, medical billing and coding, medical transcription, and medical office assisting.
